FAQ
Who are we?
Dynamic martial arts centre comes under the Academy of Self Defence, which has been going for over 25 years in the Essex area.
I have never done a martial arts class before.
This is the reason for the four lesson beginner’s course. You will be with people who are all beginners. You are all at the same standard and will never be thrown in at the deep end. The hardest part for everyone is turning up on the first night.
What do you wear to train in?
For the beginners course a t-shirt, jogging bottoms or loose trousers and trainers. By the time of your first grading you will require a club t-shirt, black trousers and martial art shoes.
I am not that fit.
You don’t have to be fit to join. You will only have to work at your own pace and in no time at all you will find your fitness levels increase and health improve.
Why a four lesson beginner’s course?
We have a four lesson induction course so you can see whether Wing Chun is for you. The course shows you the basics of Wing Chun at a steady pace which will not be achieved in a shorter period of time.
What are the benefits of learning Martial Arts?
These are a number of benefits:

How do you join Dynamic?
Phone or e-mail Richard to find out when the next four week induction course is. If you enjoy the course and want to continue training you can elect to become a member of Dynamic and the Academy of Self Defence.
Why do juniors and adults train separately?
Adults and juniors train individually so as to enable each age group to have an appropriate lesson structure which will enable them to mature with their own peer group. This allows everyone to develop at a faster pace.
Do you have grades?
Yes there is a grading structure. All members have a grade syllabus to follow this allows you to how your art is developing. There are normally two grading sessions held per year.
Is the junior grading system different from the adults?
The juniors have the same grades as adults. However these are broken down into three sections. When a section is completed in class a stripe is awarded. When all three sections are completed and three stripes have been awarded they will be ready to enter for their grade. We also have a children’s educational programme in place which includes encouraging the younger children to build confidence, respect and awareness by involving their parents in the learning and development.
Do you have weapons?
Yes we have butterfly knives and pole which are introduced in seminars and in some classes.
